BIOGRAPHY
Joe's tennis journey began at the age of nine, when he picked up his first racquet and started playing with his family. His interest in football developed during his primary school years, representing his school, Sekolah Rendah Sri Petaling, PJ, in under-12 tournaments.
By the age of ten, Joe began attending tennis camps and coaching sessions at local clubs in Kelana Jaya.
His father, a coach himself, also played a crucial role in Joe's development, coaching him at the Kelab Golf Negara Subang. Juggling between tennis, football, and badminton, Joe represented Bukit Bintang Boys School, PJ from the ages of thirteen to fifteen, competing in doubles matches in local tournaments and MSSD. He even secured the Under-15 Petaling Jaya District Doubles Title. Between the ages of sixteen and seventeen, Joe represented Maktab Yayasan Pelajaran MARA boarding school and the district of Kajang in MSSD and other tennis competitions across Malaysia. Notably, he clinched the under-18 Kajang District Singles Title.
During his college years, Joe started coaching tennis part-time to beginners under the guidance of local tennis coach Thomas Pang. In 1998, he ventured to the United States to pursue further studies and returned to Malaysia with a degree in Management of IT and Computer Science. After working with MDeC for four years, Joe made a transition into the business world as a commercial cleaning service provider, which lasted for 15 years. He even operated a TM Authorized Outlet in 2005.
In 2008, Joe deepened his passion for tennis coaching by obtaining the LTA of Malaysia Coaches Course Level 1 Certificate. He continued to coach tennis part-time while managing his business. Currently, Joe is thrilled to be a part of the OZ Team as a tennis coach, working under the guidance of international coach Jason Scivetti.
Additionally, Joe is an OZ Team business affiliate in the greater Seremban districts. He conducts private and group sessions for both kids and adults at The Club, Bukit Utama, and d'Tempat Country Club.
